Hi!! My name is Nikki, and I’d like to take a few moments to tell you about me and what you might find in this blog.
I have always wanted to touch/help people in ways that will show them that there is beauty and kindness in the world.
I have tried many many times to find a way to do so and I think this is a good way to start.
So now about me..
As I said my name is Nikki. I have been married to the man of my dreams, Jim, for almost 30 years. Though there has been some tough times in that length of time, it has been worth it. We have 4 kids, 9 grandkids, 3 dogs and 2 cats, 1 which has had diabetes for almost 2 years. My husband and I live in Deadwood SD USA, one of the most beautiful places to live. My husband and I struggle with bipolar and we deal with the ups and downs that go with it. My childhood was rough at times but not as bad as some.
For those of you that don’t know, Deadwood is a gambling town. Our town has been the site of a lot of history. I have been working in the customer service industry (love hate relationship) since 1989, when gaming first came back to our town.
Now on to some of the things you can expect in my blog.
I’m a crafter so I will be talking about the crafts I do and love. The crafts I would like to try. Don’t stop reading because you are not one also. Just keep reading. I love to cook and bake (crafting too), so I will be putting recipes in here too at times.
I will tell stories about and from the people here in Deadwood. The silly things that people say and do, both employees and the people who come here to get away from life for a few days or weeks. Some history about this town and area.
I will talk about the struggles of bipolar. How life can be here in the “old west” as both a worker dealing with tourists, and someone who lives here year around.
There’s so many many more topics I will blog about. So, basically expect just about anything, because if it interests me, I’ll probably put it in here.
I think that’s enough for now. I give you time to decide if its a blog might like to read.
So until, tomorrow have a good day/night
Nikki
